Interactive Session on Migration of Existing Taxpayers Under GST

Dear Professional Colleagues,

As you are well aware that the process of migration of more than 8 million taxpayers to the goods and services tax (GST) network was kicked off on 8th November 2016 with the launch of a website – www.gst.gov.in. Since then, the Centre and the States are working swiftly to clear hurdles for smooth transition into this singular and biggest tax reform in this country. The Central Government is very optimistic of implementing GST on 1st July 2017 as two key legislations – CGST and IGST are cleared by the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council in its meeting held on 4th March 2017.

GST Migration process will enable existing tax payers to update their information and other relevant documents as a first step towards obtaining registration under the GST. The phase-wise migration process of VAT dealers covering Central Excise assessees has ended in most of the states. As per the schedule, migration of Service Tax assessees has already started and is likely to end by 31st March 2017.  With a view to provide greater insights on GSTN user interface, procedure and documentation requirements, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (“KSCAA”) organizes an interactive session on Migration of existing taxpayers under GST with Service Tax Commissionerate-II, Bengaluru and the details of the program are here below:

Please note participation limited to 60 members on first come first serve basis.
